Secondary English Teacher (maternity leave cover)

The English teacher will be directly responsible to the English Coordinator. The class teacher is responsible for implementing the vision and mission of the school in the context of the classroom and other areas of the school in which they work. A classroom teacher should strive to understand the curriculum they teach and to communicate the content from a Christian perspective in an age appropriate manner. 

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS 
•  Temporary part-time (maternity leave cover) : Term 3 & 4 2019 (0.39FTE)
•  Working Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday

ICT (TechServe) Level 2 Support - Application Integrations

This role will complement the existing ICT team as we serve the Covenant community in their use of technology. This role will provide end user support to staff and students, and be responsible for the development of integrations and automations between existing systems. 

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS 
•  Permanent position with the possibility of either full-time or part-time 
•  24 - 38 hours per week
•  8.00am - 4.00pm
•  Commence 8 July 2019 

KEY REQUIREMENTS 
•  Committed Christian, of a reformed evangelical persuasion  
•  IT Professional with a customer service focus
•  Willingness to contribute to the teaching and learning goals of the school
•  Ability to identify, develop and implement time saving workflows and automations, including scripting and creating custom queries through various database technologies
•  Ability to work independently and as part of larger teams, prioritise service requests and communicate with clarity. Experience managing projects will be an asset  
•  Experience supporting end users within appropriate frameworks (such as ITIL)
•  Familiarity with key platforms including the following is advantageous: 
          o Edumate
          o Canvas
          o MS Office 365, Sharepoint, Teams
          o JAMF Pro
          o MS SCCM
          o VMWare

Dance Academy Senior Teacher

We seek a suitably qualified and experienced dance teacher to join our team in fostering a love and enthusiasm for dance across the School. This role will primarily involve teaching a variety of dance styles to students between the ages of 5 to 18 years, as well as the responsibility for undertaking all Dance Academy related administrative tasks.   

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS 

  • Permanent part-time
  • 16 hours per week (2.15pm - 6.15pm) Monday - Thursday, 40 weeks of the year. For the right candidate, flexibility in number of days or hours can be considered
  • Ideally commence as soon as possible or by Monday 22 July 2019

KEY REQUIREMENTS 

  • Committed Christian of a reformed evangelical persuasion
  • Relevant Dance qualifications with a background in Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Tap and Musical Theatre
  • Experience teaching students between the ages of 5 to 18 years, with a particular emphasis on the ability to engage with young children with enthusiasm and energy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skill
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain collaborative and effective working relationships with others

Principal

The mission of Covenant Christian School is to assist parents in the nurture of their children, by providing a Christ-centred, Biblically grounded, culturally engaging, and academically rigorous education to equip children to live for God’s glory.  We are a preschool to year 12 non-denominational Christian school on the Northern Beaches of Sydney.  Over 150 Christian staff serve more than 920 students from 550 families who attend over 130 different churches. Last year we marked our 40th anniversary with prayerful commitment to the vision of our founders to faithfully serve in God's plan to restore all things under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. 

Applications are invited for the position of Principal reporting to the Board. The successful applicant will be:

Christian commitment and character
A godly Christian with a mature and growing faith in Jesus Christ who actively serves in a Protestant, Bible believing church, gives priority to regularly gathering with God’s people around His Word, is committed to Bible study in the home and church and holds to Reformed Evangelical theology.

Christian education
A passionate advocate and supporter of the philosophy and distinctives of Christian education in a school governed by a Board appointed by an Association of like-minded parents. The successful applicant will display a wholehearted commitment to ensuring staff alignment to the vision and mission of the school.

• A senior management role, preferably as a Principal or acting Principal in a Christian school
• Administration, compliance, financial oversight and management including oversight of teams
• The development and implementation of strategic planning, a shared school culture and curriculum design
• Biblically grounded pastoral care and conflict resolution, effective communication and strong interpersonal skills
• Wholistic staff development including growth through performance appraisals, maturity in faith and theology.
