'Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life".'
(John 6:68 NIV)
Praise God that Jesus is the way to eternal life!

Our Year 5 students had an amazing time on camp this week at Deer Park. Despite a bit of rain, there was plenty of fun to be had with rock climbing, water sliding, bush tucker walks and building giant catapults.
Students participated in a Christian Discovery talk and enjoyed discussion time afterwards. Playing out on the sand bar was a highlight too!
Thanks so much to all of our wonderful Year 5 staff and crew who accompanied the students. What a blessing it is to enjoy time away together.
Hear from some of our Year 5 students about their highlights from camp...
Once we had hopped off the bus, we put our suitcases away and then we headed over to the rec hall where we covered some rules about camp. After that we got given our cabin groups. When we walked into our cabins the first thing we did was dibs the beds of our choice.
We were so excited for all the activities that we were going to do.
There were a range of different activities like waterslide, sand bar, archery, rock climbing, bush survival and catapults. All the activities were really fun. The food at camp was yummy, we had meals like lasagna, chicken burgers, butter chicken and nachos. We also had desserts like churros, pavlova and chocolate mousse.
After dinner on the first night, we had some free time, and then we headed straight to the games. We played games like survival tag and scissor paper rock tip. On the second night we watched a movie called Ice Age 1.
Even though everything at camp was fun, our highlight was the sand bar and the water slide.
In conclusion, camp was a wonderful experience and we would definitely go again.

On Wednesday, Year 12 Biology spent a day learning about Biotechnology, which is related to the unit of work called Heredity.
During the sessions, students used Gel Electrophoresis to detect Sickle Cell Anemia. They learnt about the importance of genetic technologies, like Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) to make multiple copies of small DNA fragments for analysis. They also inserted a gene into an E.Coli bacteria so it glowed a fluorescent green!
The day was supervised by our Secondary Science Teacher, Stephanie Williams, and run by the STEM Reactor company.

Each year we have the joy of awarding the Ngaire Wills Creation Art Prize to encourage one of our talented upcoming artists. Congratulations Alannah for your body of work of still life compositions, exploring the extraordinary in the ordinary of God’s creation.
You can read more about Ngaire Will's story on our Covenant Facebook page.
Last Friday, Jeremiah M was honoured to receive an award at the 2023 New South Wales Combined Independent Schools Sports Council (CIS) Awards Presentation, held at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Jeremiah received a Red Award for Athletics in 2023 - the highest award for primary school students. Only five students from NSW received this award.
This is a wonderful achievement, Jeremiah, and we are so proud of your efforts.
On Tuesday, Oskar M from Year 9 headed out to The Kings School to represent the CSSA in this year's CIS Under 18 tennis tournament.
Oskar played four tough matches against some of the best school aged tennis players across Independent Schools in NSW. Oskar admitted CIS was challenging but that it was a great experience for him and he will be working hard to make the team again next year.
Congratulations Oskar on making the CSSA team and competing at the CIS Championships!

Nine students attended the CSSA Opens Hockey Gala Day on Wednesday.
Angela joined with a combined girl’s team, the “Barbarians”, while also trialling for the specialised position of Goalie.
Our Covenant Opens team consisted of Owen, Ethan, Nathanael, Tom, Darcy, Toby, Caleb K and Caleb H. Owen and Ethan coached and strategized with their team, twice a week for four weeks in our hall during their lunchtimes, and all the practice and drills were put to great use on the 6-aside game out at Macarthur Regional Hockey Centre.
Everyone was outstanding in their support of one another, and every game was played with 110% energy, skill and enjoyment. An enthusiastic team of parent supporters cheered on from the sideline and had prepared freshly cut watermelon and oranges to keep the crew going on a very warm day.
Results for the 5 games: 2 Draws (4-4, 1-1) a narrow loss (1-0) and a decisive win (5-2). We were 3rd in the overall competition and were so close to making that Final (1 point away). Goal scorers included Owen (4), Ethan (4) and Caleb K (4) and Tom (1). Well done boys – you were an amazing team to work with and watch play. Special mention and thanks to the boys who captained and coached – Owen and Ethan.
