Covenant provides an enriching and supportive learning environment that inspires students to work to the best of their abilities. At Covenant, the NSW curriculum is taught from a Christian perspective and in a way that meets the learning needs of all students. This includes teaching and learning practices in every classroom, as well as extension and enrichment, and learning support. Our mission is to provide an academically rigorous education, through a well-taught integrated Christian curriculum.
All students at Covenant are valued as having been made by God (Psalm 139). We recognise that students learn differently, at different rates and at different levels. Some students will need learning support, others will require extension and enrichment, or both. We celebrate the uniqueness of each child by knowing our students and understanding how to meet their needs.
At Covenant, we have an amazing team of Learning Support teachers and aides who work with teachers to support our students. Our team works in partnership with parents and students to adjust work and support students in the classroom and with their work.
Our aides work with our students in a variety of ways; alongside students in the classroom; in a small group; or one-to-one. In Secondary School, our aides can also meet with students outside the classroom to provide extra support.
Our Learning Support team are in a fantastic position to see how students are going. The team can meet with students, discuss work and check on their progress and wellbeing. They also work closely with the Wellbeing Team which enables us to provide great care for our students.
The Learning Support team deeply values partnership with parents, and encourages regular and transparent communication to ensure that students are supported well.
Our team also organises Disability Provisions for NAPLAN and for Year 12.
